Flower Seeds in Pakistan

At Seed Beej we pack and ship flower seeds to gardeners across Pakistan every season, and the first thing we tell new growers is simple: the right seed at the right time beats everything else. A petunia sown in September will carpet your pots all winter — the same seed dropped in May just melts in the Punjab heat. That's why we split our range into clear summer and winter flowers, and only keep varieties that genuinely perform here, from the foggy winters of Lahore and Islamabad to milder coastal Karachi.

When to plant flower seeds in Pakistan

Season Sowing months Popular flowers
Summer February – April Zinnia, sunflower, cosmos, portulaca, celosia, vinca
Winter September – November Petunia, pansy, dianthus, calendula, alyssum, phlox

Growing tips from our nursery

  • Scatter fine seeds like petunia and alyssum on the surface and press them down — don't cover them, they need light to germinate.
  • Pinch the growing tip of zinnia and cosmos early on for bushier plants and many more blooms.
  • Remove spent flowers (deadhead) once a week to keep marigold and petunia flowering for months.
  • Sow a small batch every 2–3 weeks for continuous colour instead of one short flush.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which flower seeds grow best in Pakistan?

It depends on the season more than the city. For winter colour (sown September–November) petunia, pansy, dianthus, calendula and alyssum are hard to beat. For summer, zinnia, sunflower, cosmos, vinca and portulaca shrug off the heat once established. If it's your first time, marigold and zinnia are the most forgiving and sprout quickly.

When should flower seeds be planted in Pakistan?

Winter flowers go in from September to November and bloom through the cool months. Summer flowers are best sown in spring, February to April, so they're well established before the real heat arrives. Sowing against the season is the most common reason seeds seem to "never come up".

Can flower seeds be grown in pots and containers?

Absolutely. Petunia, vinca, portulaca and marigold are made for pots, balconies and terrace gardens. Give them 5–6 hours of sun and don't let the pots dry out completely during summer.

How long do flower seeds take to germinate?

Most flower seeds germinate in 7–21 days at 18–28°C. Fine seeds like petunia need light to sprout, so press them onto the surface rather than burying them.

Do you deliver flower seeds all over Pakistan?

Yes. We pack and ship fresh flower seeds across Pakistan — Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and beyond — with cash on delivery available.
